from information to formation

The Returning

Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.”Jeremiah 6:16

The Bible is a blueprint, not merely for sanctifying our intellect, but for forming a people who become signal fires of God's kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. John 10 shows us how this formation takes place. The blueprint isn't delivered from a distance but from a Shepherd who knows us and guides us by name. John 10:3-4 says: “The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”

How do we live into this invitation in a Post-Eden world?

A generation who seeks His face

Psalm 24:6

The world as we know it is full of complexity on a spiritual, psychological, emotional, physical and relational level. And God's invitation into a life of Spirit-led discernment and consecration in this hour is a path that was never meant to be traveled alone. The Returning is a space to rediscover the ancient blueprints we were meant to live-by powered by God's Word, His Spirit and safe community. Together we will wrestle with and answer some of life's most important questions. So if your soul is weary, come stand at the crossroads with us. The ancient paths are still open, and the narrow way that leads to life is still waiting for those who have the courage to walk it.

“Christian ethics is not primarily an individualistic, one-on-one-with-God brand of personal holiness; rather it has to do with living the life of the Spirit in Christian community and in the world.”

The Returning6 Month Cohort

Designed for exactly this transformation. We move past the surface level and return to the work of deep spiritual formation within the context of safe, Spirit-filled community. This isn't a passive program; it is an intentional, guided experience for the woman who is done with routine Christianity and ready to face growth edges only God can reveal and heal.

Mentorship Topics

Psalm 24 gives us a blueprint for consecration as a lifestyle. "Who can ascend the hill of the Lord? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart." However, this condition of the heart requires a countercultural commitment that begins in our interior lives with God and extends into every area of our existence. Scripture commands us to be in the world and not of it. How do the pressing questions of our cultural moment—deconstruction and reconstruction, mental health and self-care, social media and comparison, porn culture and the age of AI—affect our own spiritual formation? How do we step into a Post-Eden world in effective protest of the dark with the light of our lives? We’ll pray and discern through our growth edges—asking Holy Spirit to illuminate truth and then examine His invitations to prayerfully craft our own mission and vision statement for 2027 and beyond inspired by the truth of Psalm 24.

Every single beating heart on this side of Eden was born with a core desire for the security of a permanent home. The experiences within our stories of origin largely drive the ways in which we seek to satisfy this desire. Together, we'll take a deeper look at the Father and/or Mother wound to explore how these holes in our hearts affect our life with God and our core motives. We'll identify patterns, beliefs and hidden agreements lurking beneath the surface and challenge these liabilities to reinforce internal and external wholeness. We'll also mine the meaning of our origin stories to examine any influence present on the critical topic of appropriate adult male/female dynamics. Whether you work or serve in mixed gendered environments or mentor others who do, by the end of this module you'll be equipped with a biblically centered, real life roadmap based on Matthew 10:16: "be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves."

You've likely heard this saying: "The only thing that doesn't change is change itself." And yet here in the West, we wear identity as a final and conclusive overarching banner, but Ecclesiastes 3 tells us no season is final. And here is the truth: if it can be taken away from you in any given season, it was never your true identity to begin with. We may intellectually understand this truth. We may even comprehend that our identity is securely attached to our belovedness in God's heart from the womb to the tomb. And yet nothing will test our faith in this area more than seasons of transition and change, whether we chose the transition or it chose us. Psalm 139 tells us God gifted us with our identity as fearfully and wonderfully made daughters in His sight before we could do anything to earn or perform for His love. Together, we'll explore how to solidify this truth on a soul-level through the additions and subtractions that take place within the seasons of our lives.

Heaven moves at the speed of relationships and yet few areas of our lives require more nuance and discernment than covenant relationships (marriage and parenting) and non-covenantal relationships (friendships, work colleagues and collaborators). Whether you're a parent navigating incessant relational conflict, a leader contemplating complex team dynamics and fortifying organizational culture, a daughter caring for aging parents, a woman in a season of aloneness seeking friendships of depth—we all benefit from examining God-given relational desires against the backdrop of loyalty to God, integrity of heart, alignment within the scope of seasonal assignment and stewardship of capacity. We will also examine the spiritual implications present within our horizontal relationships as we study healthy vs. unhealthy soul ties, trauma bonds and narcissistic personality abuse in systems and personal relationships. All themes will be covered with a heart to walk in biblical wisdom and healthy sobriety.

Under the Old Testament covenant, God's Presence dwelt in a building built with cedar, gold and stone. When Jesus died the veil was torn from top to bottom and God's dwelling place moved from a structure to a people. 1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us the "body is a temple of the Holy Spirit." Just as the old temple was set apart for holiness, our bodies are meant to become living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to the Lord (Romans 12:1). In this module we'll discuss four pillars of this conversation: the power of the tongue as a tool for worship or wounding, internal "appetites" and what these "cravings" reveal about who or what we worship, the importance of sabbath rhythms to secret place intimacy and the body as a wisdom center of discernment.

The throne room of God is the ultimate Reality of all realities. When Isaiah received a vision of this Reality as recorded in Isaiah 6 He cried: "Woe to me!...I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty." One day every single one of us will stand before God's throne. This is an inevitability for every human soul. This coming day has permanent implications. In this late hour of the Church it is imperative we get a vision for discerning God's personal invitation to us in response to Matthew 28:19: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..." This mandate is not just for Pastors, Bible teachers, Missionaries, Prophets and Evangelists. This invitation is for all of us. The Poet, the stay-at-home Mother, the Doctor, the Accountant, the Elementary School teacher. Everyone who bears the name of Christ has a sphere of influence that does not require a marketing plan, a formal degree or an official title. In this module we'll develop a robust theology of eternity and discuss how it's meant to impact everything from our daily decisions and mundane tasks to how we handle our suffering, our money and our calendars. The goal of this module is to commission you with clarity and confidence as you seek to live into the words of 2 Corinthians 2:14-17: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God."

35 years on the narrow road

Your Guide

For 35 years, I have walked the narrow road of tending to God's people as a leader inside and outside of church contexts, helping women navigate what is seldom a straight line between daily reality and their divine design and destiny. My own life has not been predictable or absent of complexity and suffering. I have spent decades learning that God is not a concept to be studied, but a Person to be known in the messiness and mystery of the mundane. His ways are higher than our own and His kingdom is an upside down kingdom where the last is first and the first is last.

Through my own seasons of grappling with these truths I have discovered what it means to be grounded in the beauty and security of hearing His voice in the midst of it all. I have learned how to be emotionally honest through the language of prayer and to mine the meaning of some of life's greatest questions through holy listening.

My work as an artist, author, speaker, and spiritual director is fueled by a few core beliefs: God's Presence transforms us, and as daughters made in His image we have deep relational needs to know and be known by Him, and to know and be known by others. This is the soil we are all intended to be planted and rooted in.

Over the past three decades I have ministered to thousands of women on and off stage in many seasons and contexts, and have seen their lives dramatically altered when they are well supported in pursuit of this “long obedience in the same direction.”

I believe there is only one prayer that will change the world and in fact already has: God, transform me into the image of Jesus. So, my highest aim for this community is not information but Spirit-led formation: transformed lives, whole hearts, fresh revelation, and missional callings birthed through women who are spiritually mature, culturally informed, emotionally healthy and biblically grounded.

questions & answers

Before you begin

Who is this cohort for?+

This cohort is for any Christ follower who is hungry to grow in their faith in a biblically centered, Spirit-filled community of safe women. This journey will especially benefit women who have grown weary of surface level, cultural Christianity and long for deeper connection with God and a relationship-first approach to spiritual formation.

What do we believe?+

We are rooted in the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed. We believe in one God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—the Creator of all things. We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully human, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, died and was buried; He rose again, ascended into heaven and will return to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life; the universal Church and the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting. These truths ground our shared journey of spiritual formation, friendship with God and discipleship.

When does the cohort begin, and when do we meet?+

The Returning begins on January 14, 2027 (both Tier 1 + 2) and concludes in June 2027. Tier 1 meets the second Thursday night of every month from 6:30–8:30pm CST. Tier 2 meets the second and fourth Thursday nights at the same time each month, along with a monthly 1:1 personal mentoring session with Tanya that is scheduled around each registrant's schedule.

Our monthly gatherings take place online, so you can join from wherever you are in the world.

How many women will be in the cohort?+

Tier 1 is open to all while Tier 2 will be limited to 12 participants due to its more intensive, relationship-first nature. Both tiers will receive quality content, care and will have a unique opportunity for a high level of equipping in a safe, communal setting.

How much time is required each week?+

This is a six-month commitment to your own soul and process with God. Tier 1 can expect 2 hours per month on live calls, plus time for reflection and the practices we discuss. Tier 2 can expect 2, 2-hour calls per month and 1, 60-minute, personal mentoring session per month with Tanya along with the reflective exercises and aforementioned practices. This program is designed to fit into a full life, not to add to your stress or overwhelm.

What if I cannot make the live sessions?+

We record all group teachings and Q&A sessions so you can watch them at a time that works for your schedule. However, I highly encourage you to attend live whenever possible to get the full benefit of our community interaction.

Can I switch tiers later?+

Yes, absolutely. If you start in the Foundational tier and find you need the extra support of 1:1 mentorship, we can arrange for an upgrade during the program.

What is the refund policy?+
